The standard lays down the foundations for an overarching quality system. The focus here is on building a quality organization that affects all areas of the company. In order to maintain the standard, an audit is carried out by external bodies every year. The locations in Wasserburg, Bratislava and Bihac are certified according to this ISO standard.
GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice. In order to be able to supply excipients such as lactose for the pharmaceutical industry, very high requirements must be met. Customers themselves check whether these are being adhered to in numerous audits. As a supplier to all well-known pharmaceutical companies in the world, MEGGLE is committed to complying with the relevant GMP regulations for the production of excipients. The focus is on the ‘Rules of Good Manufacturing Practice’ in accordance with the IPEC-PQG GMP Guide for the production of pharmaceutical excipients. The main focus here is on the safety of the manufacturing process with the aim of consistently maintaining product quality. The Wasserburg, Excipients location is certified according to EXCiPACT®.
This standard was developed by the German Retail Federation (HDE) together with representatives of the food retail market (LEH) and focusses on food safety and the quality of processes and products. An external audit is carried out annually to ensure compliance. The sites in Wasserburg (Consumer Products, Contract Manufacturing, Ingredients), Gebesee and Altusried as well as in Bratislava are IFS Food certified.
The globally recognised certification for a food safety management system was developed with the participation of well-established food companies. The standard is based on the ISO 22000 norm, the industry-specific Prerequisite Programme (PRP) and additional defined requirements. The Contract Manufacturing business unit at the Wasserburg site is certified in accordance with FSSC 22000.
