Thanks to excellent product quality and intelligent innovations, MEGGLE has a leading position worldwide as a manufacturer of lactose-based carriers. Our focus is on the production of excipients for direct tabletting and dry powder inhalation. With over 70 years of experience in this field, we have developed a broad and unique product portfolio, including numerous first-to-market launches (Tabletose®, Cellactose®, RetaLac®). We see providing our customers with technical support in the areas of drug formulation and production optimisation as an obligation and an opportunity. We provide an expert team of application engineers worldwide for all questions relating to the development, production, application and refining of pharmaceutical excipients.
State-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities
Thanks to our long-established application laboratories in Wasserburg am Inn (Germany), São Paulo (Brazil) and Shanghai (China) and, above all, with the establishment of our own research laboratory ‘Innovation & Formulation’ in Gauting near Munich, we offer the best conditions for the development of functional products Excipients as well as for supporting customers in the (re)formulation of products, problem solving and also for offering service measurements. We also maintain close cooperation with scientists from universities and technical colleges. We support and supervise numerous research internships as well as theses and doctoral theses.
MEGGLE develops functional semi-finished products and ready-to-use B2B products that enable a wide variety of applications in the areas of Nutrition, Dairy, Bakery & Sweet and Savoury. The broad portfolio is supplemented by versatile single ingredients and highly functional compound solutions in order to combine customer and end user requirements into a perfect result.
Customers benefit from our years of experience in the innovative development of new products to open up open market opportunities and implement current megatrends through creative solutions. We support our partners across the entire value chain through solution-orientated consultation and the development of tailor-made recipes based on our technological know-how in the area of milk and plant-based raw materials. We source the raw materials for producing our semi-finished products and compounds for the food ingredients sector exclusively from intact ecosystems. This creates products with the highest quality and functionality.
Product development for MEGGLE Consumer Products takes place at our headquarters in Wasserburg. Our development team can draw on a wide range of know-how – chefs, dairy technologists, food technologists as well as laboratory and sensory experts work hand in hand here. Thanks to the close integration of marketing, market research and product development, we can identify customer needs, develop innovation concepts extremely efficiently and translate these into concrete products.
In order to always develop contemporary products of the highest quality and with maximum consumer benefit, we traditionally attach great importance to enjoyment, natural ingredients and full-bodied taste. The field of competence of MEGGLE product development is completed by special knowledge in the area of gentle manufacturing processes, which we continually optimise. In addition to well-spiced preparations, butters and mixed fats as well as fillings for our baked goods, we also develop vegan products at our headquarters in Wasserburg in close and trusting cooperation with the development departments of our national and international production sites.
