Business couple with passion and vision
Marina und Toni Meggle
At the age of 29, Toni Meggle became a co-partner alongside his father in the company based in Wasserburg am Inn, Upper Bavaria. Just a few years later he was the sole managing director. Under his leadership, the dairy, which initially operated regionally, became an international brand and a renowned group. Toni Meggle drives the company’s internationalization forward. New production sites and sales offices are founded in Dubai, Eastern Europe and Japan, among others. Toni Meggle has demonstrated his visionary outlook several times: MEGGLE is the first Western company in the dairy industry to operate independently in Japan. The MEGGLE brand quickly became world-famous and has since stood for quality, tradition and innovation. Today, more than 2,500 employees generate sales of EUR 1.5 billion; 20 companies and a sales office are part of the internationally operating MEGGLE Group GmbH.
With foresight and an orientation on the future, Toni Meggle established the foundation named after him in 2019 and transferred the company to it in order to ensure that MEGGLE will remain as an independent company in the long term. As Chairman of the Foundation Board, Toni Meggle, with his extensive experience and business sense, continues to play a significant role in the management and further development of the MEGGLE Group. His wife Marina Meggle actively supports him in this role. As Deputy Chairwoman of the foundation’s board, she is her husband’s closest advisor, supports him in all important strategic decisions and makes a decisive contribution to the positive development of MEGGLE. Together, the Meggle couple are actively and resolutely committed to the progressive development of the MEGGLE group of companies.
The corporate culture
When Toni Meggle assumed the role as sole managing director of MEGGLE, not only the company’s direction but also the company’s own culture changed significantly. In contrast to his father’s patriarchal management style, Toni Meggle relied on cooperative business management. He sees a decisive advantage in this: employees who share responsibility are increasingly committed to the development and economic success of the company in the long term. As a result, Toni Meggle established new forms of collaboration and formats such as the daily mail meeting every morning with his department heads, something that was largely unknown at the time. He initiated comprehensive seminars and training courses for MEGGLE managers and increasingly focused on the development of soft skills in his employees. Teamwork, goal-orientated work and responsibility became an integral parts of the MEGGLE corporate culture.
“Innovative strength gives us a future. Despite all our innovation, we remain what we have always been: a family business with high standards.“
Toni Meggle, Chairman of the Board, Toni Meggle Foundation
