MEGGLE celebrates 135th company anniversary
On March 18, 1887, Josef Anton Meggle I laid the foundation for today’s MEGGLE Group by registering a cheese-making trade. 135 years later, the company is a global player and a world-famous brand. Employees, guests of honor and the Bavarian Minister President celebrated this very special company anniversary.
The entire infrastructure around the marquee, which was erected on the factory premises in Wasserburg to mark MEGGLE’s 135th anniversary, measured around 50 by 100 meters. The Meggle couple had personally planned the celebration with great effort, which was celebrated together with employees and long-time companions on September 9, 2022. Many MEGGLE executives from all over the world also made their way back to the headquarters of MEGGLE Group GmbH after almost three years.
The fact that a 135-year anniversary of a company is anything but a matter of course was also reflected in the prominence of the celebratory speaker. In his welcoming address, Minister President Dr. Markus Söder emphasized the importance of family businesses: “Toni Meggle has shaped the company for over 60 years with down-to-earthness and a sense of community and has successfully led it through crises. This is only possible as a team with a strong workforce. The Free State congratulates an important Bavarian family business.”
The company hosts, Toni and Marina Meggle, then thanked Dr. Markus Söder for his celebratory speech. Toni Meggle also addressed his great thanks to the staff for their tireless efforts for the benefit of the entire group of companies. The almost 900 guests rose to their feet in support of Toni Meggle, under whose responsibility MEGGLE has developed over the past decades into a real flagship of the dairy and food industry, also internationally.
Various program items ensured an entertaining evening in the marquee on Megglestraße. A talk with the evening’s host, Alexander Mazza, and the three managing directors of MEGGLE Group GmbH Matthias Oettel, Henning Dehler und Marcus Hormuth also provided more personal insights into the lives of the managers. To the sounds of DJ John Munich (John Jürgens) the 135th anniversary celebration came to its festive conclusion around midnight.
